Canadian citizenship offers numerous advantages that can enhance your life and secure your future in Canada. These benefits include the right to vote in Canadian elections and run for office, eligibility for a Canadian passport, access to increased job opportunities in fields that require citizenship, and the security and permanence of citizenship status.

Eligibility Criteria for Canadian Citizenship

Below are the key criteria you need to meet to apply.

  • Residency Requirement:
    • You must have been a permanent resident and physically present in Canada for at least three of the last five years (1,095 days).
    • Full Day Credit: Every day you spent in Canada as a permanent resident counts as a full day.
    • Half Day Credit: Every day you spent in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person counts as half a day, up to a maximum of 365 days.
  • Tax Filing Requirement:
    • You must have met your personal income tax filing obligations in at least three taxation years that are fully or partially within the five years immediately before the date you apply.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • If you are aged 18 to 54 years old, you need to provide proof that you can speak and listen in either of Canada’s official languages, English or French, at Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) level 4 or higher. Acceptable proofs include:
      • Results from an approved third-party language test.
      • A diploma, certificate, or final transcript from a secondary or post-secondary program conducted in English or French.
      • Results from a government-funded language training program at a CLB/NCLC level 4 or higher.

If you meet these criteria, our team is specialized in submitting the citizenship application on your behalf in the most efficient and expedient manner possible. We are here to guide you through every step of the way, ensuring a smooth and swift application process.
